Seems things are getting tougher with every season that comes
And we're not getting any younger and our work is never done
But I just got back from town and I think I made a deal
Bought a tractor with some money and two horses from the field flesh and bone for steel
When I've ploughed the final row, and you're waiting home for me
I'll be coming down the drive with no blisters on my feet
And still have time to check the barn before my supper's cold
Then get showered cleaned and shaved and take you dancing down the road while the crops start to grow
So goodbye horses my old friends

With the harvest in early long before the colours fall
We'll watch the autumn sunsets after we've done it all

I left with Douglas and Mackay like the Devil on the loose
