Jamie and I have written a lot of songs together over the years and I'm lucky to have had all the opportunities to collaborate with him. He's a great songwriter and great musician and an honest sounding-board for me. No one cares more than that guy. He and I were having a conversation about the fact that some people might consider me as being quite ‘normal’. So many artists have struggled with relationship woes, abuse, addiction or PTSD from some terrible childhood trauma or other life-altering event. Me? I had a mild run-in with a dentist when I was three that left me physically bruised and scared of being chased toward a locked door for a few years. Other than that, my life has been pretty smooth sailing. Sometimes I feel guilty about making my living as an artist given that I haven't struggled in the same way many have. So, this is my confession song and I hope that you'll still like me after this.
